MSc Complex Systems Engineering & Management

Delft University of Technology

I am an MSc student of Complex Systems Engineering & Management at TU Delft. Having a background in urban and regional planning I have gained insight into complex socio-technical challenges in the urban systems. My ultimate goal is to work on those challenges, bringing tangible solutions for urban society. Technology is what makes my goal realistic, with all the emerging new tools and practices that can offer. I believe that significant technological advancements can and should be used in favour of people. I am convinced that real solutions can only be achieved when all voices are heard, appreciated, and included in decision-making processes.

Within CUSP, I will get the chance to substantially work towards my goal and contribute to better urban futures. My research will focus on public participation and the reinforcement of citizens’ engagement in urban planning procedures. Methods beyond conventional are about to be explored, in order to capture the local spatial knowledge. The obtained information will act as a powerful tool for policymakers and urban practitioners, ensuring inclusiveness and facilitating a (more) efficient, fair, and effective urban governance.
