I am a MSc Industrial Ecology student and my thesis focuses on the integration of complex socioeconomic outcomes into computational urban design tools to support decision-makers in achieving inclusive and sustainable urban planning. I am interested in computational/analytical approaches for understanding and deciphering complex social/sociotechnical systems. With tools such as exploratory modelling and simulations, it is fasinating the ability to explore future scenarios of systems characterised by uncertainties and multi-stakeholder. But powerful tools as such also terrify me. I think ethical and humane future design is key for keeping the checks and balances of human-technology relations and for safeguarding collective well-being and sanity.
