My thesis project presents a continuation of previous work done by the CityAI Lab regarding segregation patterns. The research will involve an exploration of the spatial relation between segregation patterns and urban fragmentation resulting from transport infrastructure.

Since reading ‘The Power Broker’ by Robert Caro, subjects related to urbanism, specially those connected to transportation, have become of great interest to me. Becoming a part of CUSP presents a great opportunity to further explore this passion. I aim to learn more about the complex nature of cities and the ways transport policy influences their forms and behaviour. This is my first opportunity to properly delve in-depth into urban issues. However, I hope that is just the first step and that in the future I will have the opportunity to further my knowledge by pursuing a formal education in urbanism and city planning.
